Do you really NEED a gun?

If you or somebody you know is trying to wrap their head around why you need a gun, think of the gun with the same rationale as why we have smoke detectors, and fire hydrants, and health insurance, and why seatbelts. I have fire extinguishers in my house, hoping and praying that I never have a fire. Just because I have fire extinguishers in my house doesn’t mean I’m out looking for a fire. It means that in the awful day when a fire comes and finds me, I am prepared for it. Owning, and carrying a firearm, simply means you’re being prepared for the inevitable day when violence finds you.
