How To Load A Magazine

Here is how you load ammunition into the magazine of semi-automatic handgun. You'll notice that the bottom of the magazine is rounded in the front and flat in the back. This mirrors the shape of the cartridge you are going to insert into the magazine. Place the magazine onto the table with your left hand. With your right thumb push the first round down onto the spring tension, past the feed lips and to the rear. With your left thumb hold that round down and begin to insert every subsequent round after that. Once you know how to load a magazine manually, you can speed things up and save a little wear and tear on your fingers by using a speed loader like this one. You simply push the speed loader down, squeezing the tension and inserting each round. Every round will go one on top of the other. And every round will be facing in the same direction.
