Under great stress, the human physiology changes in an effort to be more efficient in implementing the fight or flight response. When you are faced with a threatening or anxiety filled event, you can expect your body to respond with tunnel vision, auditory exclusion, false or missing memories, time dilation, heightened vision, loss of hearing, and many other responses. The body redirect its resources to those things it feels are most useful for survival. Stress inoculation and training under stress are great ways to familiarize yourself with physiological changes while training.
